Match Report
Eastbourne College Golf team vs  OEs
On: Thursday, 19 May 2022
Venue: at Home

The clouds parted for the Eastbourne College side to take on the OE's, to try and notch up the first win in recent memory. 4 ball better ball matchplay was the name of the game, with 8 players looking to bring home a win.

George and Archie Shakespeare reprised their Mcllroy- Poulter partnership to lead the way. With some blustery winds, they enjoyed a battle with the opposition, coming home all square after 18 holes. Bryn Watkins (captain) and Samuel Hamilton followed suit, playing a nail biting match. It was kept tight all the way round, with a strong driving display from both. It went to the 18th where a strong putting performance clinched a win, going 1 up. Aman Shah and Oliver May formed the 3rd pairing and despite some good play, came home with a loss 3 and 2. It was all down to the final match, where George Lowery and Cassius Stallion were making their debut. Going 1 up into the back 9, it was anyone's game. The back 9 proved a war of attrition, with things all square with the 18th still to play. A tense battle on the green ensued, with the OE's coming out on top with a putt finishing short.

Once again, the OE's take the spoils at REGC. However, a fantastic close match and the golf team put on a great show. All commented on the fantastic company and the team look to next year to record their first win against the OE side.
